Change: From What To What?
Thompson Conference Center
The University of Texas at Austin
The title of Barbara Jordan’s keynote address at the 1992 Democratic National Convention, “Change: From What To What?,” has been selected as the theme of this year's forum. In addition to taking center stage in today’s presidential campaign debates, “change” resonates strongly in contemporary policy issues. The 12th annual Barbara Jordan National Forum on Public Policy (BJNF) will present panel discussions on changes in politics since the civil rights era, from the rising trend of minority leaders in political office to the impact on minority groups gaining full participation in the electoral process.
On February 21, 2008, the public is invited to attend a luncheon, panel discussions led by distinguished academics and politicians, a keynote address by former Tennessee Congressman Harold Ford, Jr. , and an evening reception followed by the Presidential Debate Watch Party. Visit the Forum page for details.
